Club Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct applies to all members of BraveHearts IHC, including players,
coaches, off-ice officials and spectators.

It is the individual’s responsibility to understand all of these rules and ensure that they are not in breach of them.

The following is in addition to the IHWA/IHA Code of conduct agreed to by members in their online registration package.

  1. Attendance to training sessions is preferred, should you have valid reasons not to attend training please let your coach/team manager know with plenty of notice. We understand that we all have busy lives away from the rink, and valid reasons will not be questioned.
  2. All members are to behave in a manner that is deemed appropriate as representatives of the BraveHearts Ice Hockey Club at all times.
  3. If under the legal age any persons proven to be in the possession of alcohol or tobacco products will not be tolerated**
  4. Proven possession and/or consumption of illegal substances will not be tolerated and legal action may be taken against the offender.
  5. Members are encouraged to refrain from consumption of Alcohol prior to games and training on the premises. Any player, coach or manager suspected of being under the influence of alcohol will be asked to leave the ice or bench and further disciplinary action may be taken.
  6. Interfering with another club member or club members personal effects will not be tolerated **
  7. Any behavior on or off the ice whether physical, verbal or written bringing BHIHC into disrepute, or as being disruptive to teams, officials or spectators will not be tolerated**
  8. All members will respect the decisions of on and off-ice officials as final.
  9. Team uniforms provided to players are to be treated with care.
  10. Whenever possible full team uniform Jersey & socks will be worn for all games.
  11. Players may not go on to the ice prior to the zamboni doors are fully closed, or officials/coaches call you on to the ice.
  12. Western Australian rinks charge a $50 fee for cleaning dirty dressing rooms and will be charged back to the team who, if proven, is responsible for leaving the mess, so please pick up your mess.
  13. Only Financial and registered players may step on to the ice surface for trainings and games:
    • Un-financial players will need to discuss their individual situation with the club management.
  14. ALL payments must be paid by the due date on invoices – failure to do so will see individuals unable to play/coach for the duration of the overdue statement.
  15. Any abuse of the BHIHC, other clubs or IHWA, their members spectators or of ficials in any form including social media networking sites, chat rooms, forums etc. will not be tolerated**
  16. Bullying, ostracization and similar acts of anti-social behavior will not be tolerated**

** Should a breach of the Code of Conduct be brought to the attention of the club, it will be
discussed by the executive committee. BHIHC will follow the state guidelines for investigation and possible subsequent disciplinary action, as per section 11.3 of the BraveHearts Ice Hockey Club Incorporated Rules

Any player, coach, off or on-ice official or spectator who is associated with BHIHC who is proven to be in breach of the Code of Conduct may be excluded from training and games.

Pending the severity of the Breach of code of conduct, further disciplinary action may be taken.

This Code of Conduct is supported by IHWA/IHA Codes of Conduct, Working with Children policies, legal requirements of BHIHC and local law enforcement.

BHIHC adopts the IHWA Code of Conduct, Member Behavior Policy, Complaints Procedures and IHA Sporting Regulations.
